4th Step Sheets

It's best to work with a sponsor who has done the 4th step as you fill out the columns. Before you begin, it's suggested that you read Chapter 5 in the Big Book, and Step Four in the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions. The fourth step review sheets are based on the columns on page 65 of the Big Book.

Bill's Story

Listen to Bill Wilson speaking in 1950 at the First AA Convention in Cleveland.

Tips for Making Amends

"The readiness to take the full consequences of our past acts, and to take responsibility for the well-being of others at the same time, is the very spirit of Step Nine." Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions

  • Ask, "May I make an amend?"
  • If yes, ask them "What time and place is good for you?"
  • Make your amend.
  • Ask them, "Is there anything I've left out?"
  • Tell them "I'd like to hear how you feel."
  • Ask them, "What can I do to right these wrongs?"
